Three Seas Coastal Walk
A wonderful way to explore the tip of the Northern Coromandel
6kms Private Coastal Walk
3kms Muriwai Walk
About Your Day
-
Starts with a Shuttle ex Colville
With a 9am departure you get the best out of this full day option. The trip up to Port Jackson is sublime and the drive around to Fletcher Bay is arguably even better. Our shuttle drivers have had years of experience and take the worries of the road off your shoulders so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the drive.
-
3km Farm Walk
This is where the fun begins with a inviting walk through large scale coastal farmland. There is a short climb to several vantage points as they look back over Sugarloaf Rock and the Pinnacles out across to the first sea of the day, the far reaching Pacific Ocean.
-
3km Muriwai Walk
Transitioning from the farm walk is seamless across to the Muriwai Walk with its stark clifftops with rocky outcrops below. This section of the day finishes at Port Jackson with a leisurely beach walk right beside the second sea, the Colville Channel. Port Jackson is a great spot for a relaxing lunch and, even better, a refreshing swim before joining the return shuttle to Colville or start the final 3km section.
-
Optional 3km Private Coastal Walk
Add another 3kms of stunning coastal scenery to your day over private farmland that loops back around the Port Jackson headland. Again the views are amazing across the third sea, the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana. Such a great way to finish your day.

End with a Shuttle - or Maybe Not??
Chill out in the afternoon light as the van makes its way back to Colville. But consider this…………..there is also the option to bike the return trip of 30kms back to Colville as part of our Stride & Ride Combo.
-
Expected Return Time
All good things must come to end. We expect to be back in Colville around 5pm. This allows plenty of time for you to get back to your accommodation in time for a meal. If staying at Susannah’s we can prepare a meal for you to have waiting ready to eat upon your return.
At One With Nature…..
The remoteness of the Northern Coromandel gives it that unique and alluring appeal. Your senses are challenged with the fresh sea breezes blowing in from far across the Pacific Ocean.
Views for miles………..
With amazing coastal seaviews and the occasional resident sheep or cow for company, this day showcases so much of our local backyard. Add in an informative, interactive commentary you’ll also get to hear the local gossip and historical facts. What a way to spend your day.
So Good……………
The day offers a real overdose for your wellbeing. Not only in terms of exercise with up to 9kms of hiking but the peace and tranquility of what the remote Northern Coromandel offers. Double that up with the amazing views and vibes from the sea and this day really is good for your soul!

Colville Departure Point: This is from our home in Colville at 76 Wharf Road, Colville. First road on the left just as you leave Colville. Departs at 9.00 a.m. returns 5.00pm approx. Check-in 10 minutes prior. Free Parking available on site.
Please Note: Many rental car companies have insurance exclusions in place if their hire vehicles are driven on our backcountry roads. If you are in a bigger vehicle e.g. a campervan or towing a caravan, some parts of the road are very narrow with very little room to get around oncoming traffic without maneouvering. Taking a tour with us means you leave the stresses and strains of driving, back in the carpark.
We advise our travellers to stay in either Colville or Coromandel the night before and after the tour. This is a full day and can be tiring if additional travel is booked in further away. It may be helpful with your planning to know Whitianga and Thames are approximately an hour's drive away from Coromandel Town.
Walking Poles may be of assistance as well as good grip on shoes.
Please advise in advance if you have any food allergies or food requirements.
