Three Seas Coastal Walk

A wonderful way to explore the tip of the Northern Coromandel

3kms private farm walk

3kms Muriwai Walk

About Your Day

  • Starts with a Shuttle ex Colville

With a 9am departure you get the best out of your day. The trip up to Port Jackson is sublime and the drive around to Fletcher Bay is arguably better. Tick off one sea along the way, the Hauraki Gulf as its waves lick the shore, close to the road.

  • The Walk from Fletcher Bay

This is where the fun begins with a inviting walk through large scale coastal farmland. There is a short climb to several vantage points as they look back over Sugarloaf Road and the Pinnacles across to the second sea of the day, the Pacific Ocean.

  • The Muriwai Walk

Transitioning from the farm walk is seamless across to the Muriwai Walk with its stark clifftops with rocky outcrops below. The Walk finishes at Port Jackson with a leisurely beach walk right beside the third sea, the Colville Channel. Port Jackson is a great spot for a late lunch and, even better a refreshing swim before joining the return shuttle to Colville.

Untouched Surroundings

The remoteness of the Northern Coromandel gives it that unique and alluring appeal not to mention the lack of easy accessibility on our narrow, winding roads. Our shuttle drivers have had years of experience and take the worries of the road off your shoulders so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the drive.

Views for miles………..

With amazing coastal seaviews and the occasional resident sheep or cow for company, this day showcases so much of our local backyard. Add in an informative, interactive commentary you’ll also get to hear the local gossip and historical facts. What a way to spend your day.

What shall I bring……….

  • Sturdy walking shoes, Trainers are OK to wear in summer but must have good grip on the soles.

  • Walking poles can be handy but not essential.

  • Lunch, snacks, water (complimentary top-up water supplies are available in the van).

  • Sun protection,

  • Sunhat,

  • Insect repellent,

  • Swimsuit and towel.

  9. Colville Departure Point: This is from our home in Colville at 76 Wharf Road, Colville. First road on the left just as you leave Colville. Departs at 9.00 a.m. returns 5.00pm approx. Check-in 10 minutes prior. Free Parking available on site.

  10. Please Note: Many rental car companies have insurance exclusions in place if their hire vehicles are driven on our backcountry roads. If you are in a bigger vehicle e.g. a campervan or towing a caravan, some parts of the road are very narrow with very little room to get around oncoming traffic without maneouvering. Taking a tour with us means you leave the stresses and strains of driving, back in the carpark.

  11. We advise our travellers to stay in either Colville or Coromandel the night before and after the tour.  This is a full day and can be tiring if additional travel is booked in further away.  It may be helpful with your planning to know Whitianga and Thames are approximately an hour's drive away from Coromandel Town.

  12. Walking Poles may be of assistance as well as good grip on shoes.

  13. Please advise in advance if you have any food allergies or food requirements.

Just wow!
